How do you stay motivated to work out every day?
I don’t. That’s one thing that I wish I had known iatthe beginning of my journey. Motivation will come and go and I definitely am not always motivated. Dedicated is what I am. Dedication is getting your workouts and meals in even when you don’t feel like it. Setting short-term goals such as vacations or giving yourself non-food related rewards can help with both dedication and motivation.
What do you have for lunch?
Lately I’ve been making enchiladas with slow-cooked chicken and corn tortillas. Every Sunday I throw chicken in my crockpot and just wrap up some chicken in corn tortillas and top with some enchilada sauce! I make 7 servings at a time and keep half in the freezer to pull out in a few days. Then I throw those enchiladas on a salad! It’s delicious and so easy to prep in advance!
What do you do to treat yourself?
I LOVE getting massages! To me, that’s the perfect treat to help my sore body! When I go out for a treat meal though my go-to is something sweet! Cookies, ice cream and brownies all the way! I don’t care much for pizza or burgers. I’d rather have a salad with dessert!
What do you have for dinner? – Does your family eat the same thing?
It depends on my goals. When I’m really dialing it in and trying to reach a goal I don’t always eat what I make for my family. Sometimes I will still be making them a healthy meal but it’s not what I need for my goals so I will pull out a meal prepped dinner for myself. Most of the time though I do eat what I make for my family but just modify it for my needs. It is generally simple and clean foods such as meat, some sort of carb like rice or potatoes and a fat source like avocado, salad dressing, cheese, etc.
How do you stay on track?
Being the face of an international fitness brand definitely helps me stay on track with keeping up my fitness! Haha! But really, fitness is my lifestyle so once the habits are set in stone it’s pretty easy to stay on track.
What do you do if you fall off the wagon and what would you say to anyone who panics the moment that they do?
Even though I have good habits I still fall off track sometimes! It’s important to remember that it happens to everyone and it’s totally normal! The key is to not let it totally derail you. An off meal or even day won’t set you back. But if you let it derail you and turn into weeks off track, that’s when it will be much harder to get back on track. When I feel myself slipping off track I like to leave the room and take 10 deep breaths. Then I tell myself that it’s ok to mess up and I’m committing to get back on track right now – not Monday or tomorrow but right now.
What would you say to anyone looking to start their fitness journey?
1 – be consistent. Like I said before, falling off track is normal and ok as long as you get right back on track! Consistency is SO important in reaching your goals. If you spend a day or two on track mixed with a few days off track you’ll just be spinning your wheels.
2 – be patient! You didn’t gain the weight overnight and you likely won’t lose it as quickly as you’d hope. Fat loss and muscle building are LONG processes. My 15-day challenge is an amazing kick start to your journey but you likely won’t be at your goal with one challenge unless you’re just trying to drop a few pounds. Be prepared to keep up these healthy habits for the long term!
What is it about your 15-day challenge that is unique?
The food is amazing! It’s simple, easy and delicious! You’ll also be eating enough food to fuel your metabolism so you likely won’t be starving. Also, my unique flush day carb cycling system will allow you to drop water weight so you can really see your results even better! And the workouts are so much fun! You’ll never do the same thing twice!
Who is your Trainer Lindsey 15-day challenge aimed at?
The goal of the challenge is fat loss so anyone trying to lose fat will love my challenge! If you’re trying to build muscle you can still do the challenge, you’ll just need to eat more food. I recommend eating the highest weight range’s meal plan for muscle building.
